Touched with Fire is an artistic dialogue between ceramicist sculptor Valentina Arkadi, photographer Victoria Viprada and media artist Karen Grigorean

With the help of sound and light, the exhibition space immerses the viewer in the intimate moment of the sculpture's birth. The subdued light and unique sounds of the different types of ceramic work form a unified chamber atmosphere, bringing the viewer closer to the art pieces. The video projections focus on human contact with surfaces and physicality itself. The sculptures, illuminated from within by 'fire' are frozen in a moment of transition. In its finalised form, the sculptures become like a human body.

Sound recording processes

Final result after a lot of processing and layering of different sounds into one acousmatic piece

The exhibition presents Valentina Arkadi's most notable art pieces created over the past 3 years. The fundamental motive of her work is to capture a moment of contact between human and nature through manipulation with surface and texture.
